This is a professional organisation; the initial approach was informative without any pressure to sign up with them.
The "What happens next "process was explained in full and guess what, that's what happened.

I have really enjoyed my experience with the CV Writing Centre. I found it to be a very positive experience all
the way from initial contact through to completion. I found the interviewer assigned to me to be very understanding,
and was able to translate my thoughts and answers into positive statements which have allowed my skills and
experience to be shown in a way that previously was a case of valuable information about myself not being
communicated to prospective readers of my CV.
I also felt very strongly that time spent with me was not an issue, but that the interviewer (in my case Jonel Schwarz) was far more concerned with getting the right information. Never once did I feel rushed or that I was taking up time. I can also say that coupled with the friendly and pleasant approach was an extremely high level of professionalism, and I wholeheartedly recommend any one to invest some time and effort with this company.

Before having engaged the services of a professional CV writer I had not appreciated that a properly
thought out CV is also a properly prepared for interview. Simple as that.
Only after having worked on my CV with someone who knew what she was doing, did I really grasp exactly
what my own skills and achievements were. That ultimately proved so much more useful to me than just a
list of 'stuff that I had done' which was all I had managed on my own.
What the professional did for me was to challenge everything I had written (and not written), making sure
only the very best of my achievements were mentioned and making sure that they were specific and targeted.
Engaging a CV writer (if they are any good) is, in my view, a very sound investment. In an interview, no
one's going to want to talk about your new £200 interview suit. It's the CV they're interested in,
so that's where I chose to spend my money. And it paid off.
The fact that someone saw my CV, offered me an interview and I went into that interview knowing myself inside
out was all down to the professional help I had in putting that CV together. It was, in short, worth every
penny and I'll do it again next time.

When I first got the call from Jim Collins I thought "Oh no! Just what I want – a cold call trying to sell me
the benefits' of a CV writing service." I instantly made the link with an online job search service I had used
earlier, supplying them with my name, e-mail and telephone number.
However, the offer was made for a free critique of my CV, right there and then. Being from Yorkshire I felt duty bound to accept this gentleman's hospitality, but how could I get rid of him at the end?
I have to say that it wouldn't have been too much of a problem to do that, and the good news is that I had already received guidance and tips over the phone which would have improved my CV by a good 30% - and all for free!
Jim though held a consultative interview with me, asking what I wanted to achieve, what was important to me, and a rather startling question: "Do you intend for this CV to reach a European audience?"
On investigation, it turns out that European employers like to see a photo; UK employers less so. Out went the photo, along with a whole load of other frippery –"not relevant to what an employer needs."
He didn't know it, but Jim had the sale at that point, we were only going to haggle about the price from there on in. But that's why Jim spent years in HR and I did the same in sales.
Deal done and we arranged for a phone interview with Jonel, who rang me exactly at the agreed time. Again, a consultative interview was conducted and Jonel was quickly up-to-speed with my eclectic and erratic CV.
My acid test for both Jim and Jonel was how interested in me they were; after all my future was potentially in their hands. Being both from Southern Africa I easily steered the subject away from the job at hand and into one of my pet subjects, rugby. Both gladly engaged with me, making me feel that I was the only client on their books at that particular time – a nice feeling, seldom experienced these days.
I received the first draft of my re-invigorated CV within a couple of days (expectations set at 5 business days!). There were a couple of misunderstandings, totally acceptable given the complexity of my initial CV, but e-mails exchanged and changes made. Not only that, but improvements were still going on as it winged back to me – a victory for Kaizen.
This CV writing experience is not cheap, but if it helps to secure employment even a week earlier than without it then it has paid for itself several times over. My CV is now 70% better than it was previously.

When I originally contacted the company I received an acknowledgement email within hours followed by a phone call.
I was quite impressed.
The staff members were friendly and helpful. I liked the manner in which the telephone interview is held, there is so much you can gain from just talking to a friendly person on the other end of the phone. I liked the manner in which the telephone interview is held, there is so much you can gain from just talking to a friendly person on the other end of the phone.
